Can it really be this simple?

Can we really be unified in the essentials of the faith?  And whose to say what the essentials of the faith are?  God Creator, Jesus Savior, Death and Resurrection, Salvation by faith alone, Regeneration and Grace.
And can we really believe in diversity among the non-essentials?  Again, whose to define those non-essentials?  Baptism, Communion, Ministry, Evangelism, [...]
